Student Partnerships – Draft

LaSource social enterprise is building opportunities and resources for tertiary students to undertake real world projects. LaSource Social Enterprise will provide a range of services to support students starting with providing ideas and opportunities for projects through to providing resources, accommodation and support to students. With special attention given to provide achievable targets, LaSource Social Enterprise will develop a range of linked sub-projects that allows a student to complete one part of a larger project, for more information on Student partnerships and this innovative opportunity. Along with Joint Ventures LaSource Social Enterprise will be an active participant in seeking relevant grants and development support.

Overview – The Opportunity for students

Students are increasingly undertaking studies with more and more specialisation, this tends to make their course work increasingly theoretical. Whilst this knowledge is very important students find it harder to demonstrate their increased knowledge practically and it can be difficult to find industry placements.

Industry placements can be valuable however projects within such placements are usually restricted to the businesses core business or projects. It can be hard to identify both a business and a project within that business that suits the student’s objectives.

Practical projects often require access to resources that students just can’t access and as a result find it difficult to find real and practical projects.  Please see below the “LaSource Social Enterprise Offer to students” for possible resources available.

LaSource Social Enterprise offer to Educational institutions

LaSource Social Enterprise can bring substantial resources as well as ideas and opportunities to educational institutions and there need to find practical placements and projects for students during their studies.

A low cost alternative with some self funding LaSource social enterprise plans to make it easy for students to be place in practical projects. This will reduce your need to organise such activities by providing multiple opportunities with a single organisation operating in a social enterprise model. You will be able to benefit from participation in joint ventures and co-operative research without the complexities and costs of cooperative research centers.

If we have the opportunity to work with you in advance we can establish suitable projects that meet the student and your organisations needs, including forward planning of opportunities such as phased projects for which one or more students can participate in a single phase and fir into the academic periods available. You and your organisation may benefit equally to your students so please see below “LaSource Social Enterprise offer to students”. This offer details the resources LaSource Social Enterprise can deliver and can assist you in determining its fit with your course of education. Please see the section “Overview of Potential projects” for a possible fit with your requirements.

You will also find many of the resources will suit you when it comes to assessment time and later for successful projects to help you demonstrate that success.
